Dave DeRoberts

Project Manager

Dave is a proven Project Manager with more than 35 years of experience on high-profile, highly complex projects across the State of Alaska. He skillfully manages construction projects from design preparation and estimating to construction management and close-out. He has worked closely with relevant project stakeholders including design team members, subcontractors, government officials and others to deliver complex projects within strict contract requirements.

 

On each of his projects, he has maintained close communication with client owners to answer questions and provide timely construction services. Dave specializes in the development of innovative construction approaches, with particular emphasis on complex projects within strict schedule requirements. This experience gives him a strong familiarity with local construction conditions including material-procurement methods, labor standards and other critical factors. Throughout his career, he has successfully overseen many projects ranging up to $30 million.

Kendall Wilson

Project Manager

Kendall has more than 16 years of construction experience, successfully performing projects ranging in value from $400 thousand to $30 million. Kendall’s experience and capability spans the full range of construction operations. With demonstrated experience bidding, supervising, scheduling, permitting and organizing work flow, he has successfully supported projects from inception through closeout.

 

Furthermore, he excels at collaborating with Architect/Engineer teams to ensure project execution from inception through construction. Having successfully completed projects throughout Alaska, he is highly familiar with the state’s unique construction challenges. With leading education and training in construction management and business, he combines experience and knowledge to provide exceptional levels of quality.

Ben Pierce

Project Manager

Ben brings over 15 years of commercial construction experience to the team.  Although Ben is well experienced in all aspects of the industry, he specializes in interior tenant improvements.  His experience ranges from small repairs to full scale renovations on projects in upwards 100,000 sf.  

 

Ben is skilled in organizing, scheduling, and completing projects while the owner/tenant conducts full operation in the construction space.  In addition to these skills, he also built long term relationships with the local building departments and inspectors to successfully assist with the local permitting process.  Ben takes great pride in his ability to bring excellent projects and craftsmanship to fruition for his clientele throughout Alaska. 

Dennis L. Smedley II

Project Manager/Safety

With more than 20 years of construction experience and 10 years of safety, experience, Dennis is a Certified Safety Professional who is our Safety Program Manager.  He has extensive experience directing OSHA standards for workplace safety. He has overseen safety on many projects throughout Alaska, managing construction and safety on projects ranging in value from $ 50 thousand to $14 million.

 

In addition, Dennis has extensive construction knowledge and supervisory experience congruent with all phases of commercial construction. He has worked on and managed crews consisting of up to 20 personnel, ensuring that each individual performs their trade in a safe, professional manner. Moreover, he has coordinated with up to 25 subcontractors per project and ensures that all workmanship to meet our high standard of quality. This experience enables him to manage projects and coordinate safety across all construction disciplines in a timely and effective manner.

Bently j. Piersma

Project Manager

Mr. Piersma brings 30 years of construction Project Management to the team. He has been responsible for the overall management of construction activities from inception to final completion on numerous projects over many years. Mr. Piersma has developed comprehensive skills as the POC between project owners, end users, prime contractor, design teams and subcontractors. His experience performing design-build and design-bid-build projects ensures a professional, successful and cohesive team integration on site between project managers, designers and subcontractors. Throughout all project phases he ensures through constant communication between all team members compliance with all design, federal/state and environmental specifications.

 

In addition, he specializes in preparing constructability reviews, job reports, project budgets and schedules, estimating, developing accurate Schedule of Values and cost loaded schedules, maintaining targeted completion percentage rates and allocated values for pay request, and sustaining effective documentation. Mr. Piersma has extensive experience managing complex projects with logistical and environmental challenges. His proven experience performing successful project scheduling, project tracking, facilitation of project connectivity, anticipation of external factors and proactive problem-solving has resulted in a perfect record of meeting and exceeding completion deadlines and budgets.  Mr. Piersma places high value on commissioning an honest team environment and team cohesion.

 

Mr. Piersma has successfully completed a wide variety of projects in Alaska ranging in value from $500,000 to $20 million and ranging in size to over 100,000-SF. This includes performing as Project Manager for numerous projects with clients including the Dept of Homeland Security CBP and USCG, USACE, USAF, USANG, US Fish and Wildlife (USFWS) and Department of Transportation (DOT) Parsons (PTSI) and Federal Aviation Admin (FAA); projects ranging in value from $5,000 to $20 million.  Many of these projects have successfully overcome the challenges of building in remote Alaska including wind loads, seismic effects, coastal and salt water environments, and severe arctic conditions. Additionally, he has experience performing for federal and state governments, as well as private and public sectors.

Brian Ginder

Project Manager

Michaela "Coco" Duplesse

General Manager

With more than 20 years of business experience, Coco has significant experience in all aspects of business.  She has managed companies in both the legal and construction fields. 

 

In addition, she brings over 20 years of experience in accounting, human resources, and business development.  These years of experience enable her to see that all aspects of the business, from employees, insurance, business relationships and all the financial aspects are run and maintained to the highest business standards.

Jessica "Jess" Sermon

Project Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant 

Jess brings a fresh way of thinking to the team. She received her education from Antelope Valley Community College, and then later transferred to University of Science and Art of Oklahoma, where she received a B.A. in Communication with a minor in Liberal Arts. She is a team player who excels in communication and creativity. In addition to these abilities, she has years of experience working with the public in providing the high levels of customer service.

 

Jess has helped define Cadence’s brand with her professional skillset. Her knowledge of graphic design, copywriting, photography, marketing, and customer service makes her a perfect fit to manage Cadence’s social media accounts, website and other marketing avenues.
